This is a vintage 1970's Geoffrey Beene brown and navy blue chevron patterned wool skirt with a matching jacket. We love vintage Geoffrey Beene pieces and consider him to be one of the most important American designers of all time. This 2 piece suit is beautifully made in a luxe wool and the pieces can be worn together or separately with other items you already own.
The jacket has a pointed collar, a single breast pocket and identical deep front pockets. There are purple buttons along the front opening of the jacket and the skirt has a narrow fixed waistband with a flat hook and eye and metal snap for closure. The front of the skirt has a nice kick pleat that resembles a slit when expanded and the skirt has functional side pockets.
Labeled a vintage size 12, but we estimate this ensemble would best fit a modern day US size 8/10.
